I want your skull

I'm sending this one to I want you skull, hoping to be in their next print zine. I think they're getting more submission now than the last time, so it might be tough to get in. Also, the skulls aren't really the dominant theme here (as required in their guidelines), so it might be a bit too cute for them! Might as well send it though. It was fun to make, so it's not all in vain.

edit:
I simplified the image a little, and added the bird as a sceleton. Ha, still it really seems that this piece refuses to be about sceletons, no matter how much sceletal stuff I add to it! Well, I tried. So here's the version that I actually submitted:

Crash

Just a quick drawing for Illustration Friday this time, I've been kind of busy this week. I'll be posting about that soon!

Some long due doodling

My TV broke last week, and I've been forced to figure out something actually usefull to do with my time. So I doodled. I think I should make a habit of it, because I really need to develope my drawing technique. Too bad I'm so lazy! Although I've been suspiciously active lately now that the TV's not on all the time, go figure...

Sprout

It's a miracle that I got this done so quickly, I guess not going overboard with the topics every time helps a bit. I completely ripped off Paul Klee with this one! I can't decide on the colour, what do you think?

I'm obsessed with Shonen Knife.

Red

I know it's kind of weird, I have no explanation for it.

I'm pretty new to illustration, so my style is still developing. Right now it's pretty much all over the place, I'm experimenting with all kinds of stuff. I have no idea where it's going to land next. It's exciting and frustrating at the same time!

Mathilde

Here's two versions of a song that was an inspiration to my picture this week:
Scott Walker
Jacque Brel
I like them both, but Jacque Brel is my favourite, he's just out of this world!

Anti-buzz

It should actually be called "boredom". I think boredom is essential and very fruitful in right doses. This was a very laborous work, and it didn't turn out the way I pictured it at all. I worked on the postures forever and I'm still not completely happy with them, I think they're a bit rigid (which comes from working on them for so long...). I put some razzle dazzle around them at first to fool the eye, but I took most of it off, I don't really like razzle dazzle that much... I'm very happy that I finally got it done though, now I can move on to new, even more frustrating projects!
